If you are already a Young Leader we hope you will know about this Sevenoaks event for Young Leaders (including those completing Duke of Edinburgh (DoE)) taking place next Saturday from your Group Scout Leader.
This is the first event of many, we hope, and is also open to anyone interested in becoming a Young Leader.
Please book as soon as possible so we can ensure we have enough resources for this event and to get first choice of the activities you would like to take part in.
It is an opportunity for ALL groups Young Leaders to get together to have some fun as Young Leaders and find out how Sevenoaks District can support them.
Module A training will be optional to complete at this event, which will be run by Mike Randall the Explorer Leader for Young Leaders in Sevenoaks.
Please note ALL Young Leaders aged 14 to 18 including those who are volunteering for DofE are required to complete Module A within 3 months of starting to lead. It can also be completed by anyone over 13 & half who intends to lead this coming year.
There will be 4 optional activities also being run with a nominal charge of £2 per activity chosen with the exception of slack lining/soft archery which will be a free activity. Please state your preference for these activities in order of 1st 2nd & 3rd choice or No if not interested in taking part in one or more.
- Axe throwing
- Air Rifle Shooting (note additional form will need to be completed and will be emailed to all attendees that apply)
- Slack lining &/or soft archery. (free activities)
Participation in all of the above will depend on demand (so book quickly as first booked will get first preference) and whether they need to complete module A or not.
Please bring money on the day as number of activities they can take part in will depend on numbers attending and completion of module A or not.
Slack lining &/or soft archery will be run dependant on the weather and participation numbers this will be a free activity i.e. no charge for this.
There is no requirement to take part in any of the above activities if no desire to do so and you may leave following completion of module A if you prefer to do so.
Please arrive at 2pm for everyone. We expect Module A to be complete by 4pm for those that need it. Activities to run from 3pm to 5pm - with a possible option of running a little later if there is demand to complete a further activity - young people can advise parents accordingly.

If anyone needs Explorer Uniform please order via our Sevenoaks District Website scoutshop.sevenoaksscouts.org.uk and ask for it to be delivered to the Young Leader event or your meeting. We can also arrange for you to try on sizes at this Young leader event if unsure what to order but you need to have placed an order via the shop website first. In order to ensure we have your size for next weekend please order a.s.a.p.
