Are we recovered yet? - probably not..... what a packed weekend the cubs have just had with the full time help of 4 fantastic parents. We thank Lisa (LC), Mike (Hawkeye), Simon (Travis) and Wayne (Mash) for helping to make this weekend succesful for the young people.
12 cubs worked together in many tasks to fight it out for the overall camp trophy - who has won? we are yet to find out at our next cub meeting.
So what have they been doing? playing the mad dentist wide game, making and racing karts, building fires and cooking their lunch, building shelters, playing the post box game, having a campfire sing along, watching the best film out at the moment, crate stacking, raft building then getting very wet and finally riding the cresta run!!!! all this in a weekend...

Winning the Mickey Spearey Trophy
Author: Rose Mears | Date: 01-05-2011
What a fantastic moment for the cubs to be presented with the District Cubs Mickey Spearey Trophy for the most improved Cub Pack in the last year. The cubs were spellbound by hearing their name called out and with a little prompting we managed to get them onto the stage to collect the trophy.....well done to them all
Mickey Spearey Story
Mickey Spearey was a young boy who during the 1960's, while very ill in hospital, was delighted to have dedicated leaders who took Cub Scouting to him at his bedside. It was the the highlight of his week, when the cub leaders brought the programme into the hospital for all the sick children. Sadly Mickey passed away in hospital but his grateful parents wanted to express their gratitude for the happiness that Scouting bought to Mickey at the most dire time for both Mickey and the family. The family commissioned a silver wolf made out of the silver substance that is commonly used for tooth filling. 50+ years on the Trophy is still a treasured trophy to be presented with.
